Workshop – Portraiture @ Prince Edward Room, St George Leagues Club

Let’s have some fun at the club and create our very own set ups.

The committee is organising 2 models with different set ups as we get closer to our monthly Portrait evaluation. Bring your camera along and any props you would like to use.

We will have a male model doing muscles, weights and chalk dust. Also a female model dressed up like Pin Up Style.

We will keep you updated of any changes there may be.

Members Show and Tell Workshop + phone comp winner @ St George Leagues Club

Tonight our members can bring up to 5 images to discuss and show your fellow members. It is a great way to get feedback off each other, give your opinion or ask what more could you do with your images.

We will also go through our Mobile phone comp which our members will evaluate on the MPC site. This months subject is Reflections.

Workshop – How to set up a Studio Portrait Setup @ St George Leagues Club

Want to know how to set up a studio session? How to put the strobes and soft boxes together? Now is the time.

Our President Marianthi will demonstrate how to set up a portrait session from the start. From putting light boxes together to strobes, backdrop and then shooting. We will also be tethering to the projector so you can see what comes directly from the camera.

Will be a fun night so bring your camera to practice.

2022 Interclub Challenge @ Lakeside Golf Club

Interclub with Macarthur and Ingleburn Photographic Society’s 

This year’s Interclub Challenge is being hosted by the Macarthur Photographic Society and will be held on Tuesday 16th August. We invite you to the Willow Room at Lakeside Golf Club 50 Raby Road Gledswood Hills (Adjacent to Emerald Hills Blvd) at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. St George Leagues Club Photographic Society and Ingleburn Photography Club members are welcome to join Macarthur Photographic Society members for dinner in the adjoining Bunkers restaurant from 5.30pm.

Each club is asked to enter 30 digital images, with a maximum of 4 entries per financial member. A person may only enter as a member of one club. The subject is open, but entries must not have been entered previously to this tri-club challenge. Each image will be scored out of 20 and club scores will be a tally of each members scores. Macarthur Photographic Society will provide a non-partisan judge.

Images will be presented in a video presentation followed by the judges’ comments and individual scores. Then the final score tallies will be announced, and the engraved perpetual trophy will be presented to the talented winners. The evening is aimed to be concluded by 10pm.

Presentation – Uniqueness vs Bestness by Matt Palmer @ Prince Edward Room, St George Leagues Club

Matt Palmer is an award-winning photographic artist based in Alpine Victoria. Passionate about our natural world, and photographs that tell a story or establish a sense of place, Matt has won over 200 awards across documentary and landscape photography categories.

Matt runs the Alpine Light Gallery located in Bright, Victoria with his partner, landscape photographer Mieke Boynton.

Uniqueness vs Bestness TITLE OF PRESENTATION
Uniqueness vs Bestness is an examination of what makes a photograph unique and whether it really has ‘all been done before’. Throughout the presentation we will explore some novel examples of photography that communicate different ideas, or transform well known places. The presentation is suitable for those at all skill levels with lots of visual examples of the discussion.
