Presentation – Using textures to enhance your images by Sandra Dann @ Prince Edward Room, St George Leagues Club
Jun 23 @ 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

We are exited to have Sandra Dann present to us about all things textures. We are looking forward to seeing how this can help in our own photography.

Sandra has an online shop with many great resources and products. Check her out at:

Using textures to enhance your images is way of bringing life to photos that would be otherwise sitting in the archives. Using Textures is more than putting a texture over a photo at the end of the processing workflow. You can use textures at the beginning, to add depth of colour or add a tactile appearance. I love creating art, mixing textures and elements together and working in photoshop is the way I can do this. I get excited when I have a photograph and I start adding textures, changing, and bringing it to life in ways I never imagined. This really makes my soul come alive and gives me direction in my art. This workshop is for the Photographers, any creatives – who want to learn to combine colour and texture to create Creative Images.

In this workshop we will cover:

  • When to use Textures for your creative images
  • What photos work or not work for Textures?
  • What kind of Textures to use for your creative images?
  • What texture to choose for a tactile appearance
  • Creating Texture Art – using multiple textures, brushes, and other techniques

Here are some images where I have used Textures in my workflow to create Texture Art, the possibilities are endless.

The committee is organising 2 models with different set ups as we get closer to our monthly Portrait evaluation. Bring your camera along and any props you would like to use.

We will have a male model doing muscles, weights and chalk dust. Also a female model dressed up like Pin Up Style.

We will keep you updated of any changes there may be.
